Item 1) I'm gettin laid off in 2 weeks.

It's a mixed blessing as it opens up some opportunities, but too early to tell right now. More info as it develops. There's a lot of things that money can't buy. For everything else, there's unemployment.

Item 2) I need new music.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I dig techno, but I'm open to whatever. Been listening to a lot of chillout and lounge music lately. D/L link is mucho appreciated.

Actually I was wondering how difficult it would be to do a balloon using Vector Art ... should I just use the pen tool and gradients for shading, or should I use something else?

If you're using illustrator, there are predefined shapes that you can use. For the basic roundish balloon, you can use the circle tool, create a circle, then pull the bottom point to give it that upside-down tear shape. then you can add in any other details with the pen tool. i can do a quick tutorial if you like
